A lovely metis (woven with a linen weft and cotton warp) coverlet* from France.  Hand-dyed a silvery-grey with lilac to blue-violet undertones.  Lovely, wide hand-done ladder hemstitching along the edge.  Nicely sized at 86" x 120" (the length is generous enough that the bottom could be trimmed down and the excess used to make coordinating pillows).  This coverlet has a crisp, cool texture.

*I recommend using these beautiful antique sheets as coverlets.  They are wonderful to lay as an accent atop a duvet cover, bedspread or comforter; or directly over your sheets (depending on the size and your preference).
